"How to Honour the Moon" translated into Arabic by the gifted poetess Jouna Jou


Like the fragrant colours of spring 
descending like manna
from citrus-tinted branches 
of blossoms in the rain,

like the silence of the days,
a flow of unspoken story
moving softly through 
an abundance of petals,

like current dreams 
travelling light,
an orchid that slowly
courageously opens, 

she is always near,
blessing our sanctuary,
no matter how far we travel 
from the rhythms of home –

be gentle with her spirit
allow for her light,
 every broken moment 
made whole in her divinity.

كيف أمجّد القمر
كألوان شهر مايو العطرة
التي تنزل كالمن من
الفروع الملونة باالليمون
والأزهار في المطر
كصمت الأيام
كفيض قصة لم تحكى
تجول برقة بين حشد البتلات
كالأحلام المتدفقة
التي تسافر بهدوء
كزهرة سحلبية
تتفتح ببطء و شجاعة
قريبة هي دائما
تبارك محرابنا
مهما اشتد بنا البعد
عن إيقاع ديارنا
كن لطيفا بروحها
واسمح لضوئها بأن يتلألأ
فكل لحظة منكسرة تلملمت
و أصبحت كلا في ألوهيتها.
